Medical Oncology
The Department of Medical Oncology provides Systemic Therapyservices for patients of all types
of solid cancers (e.g. Breast cancer, Lung cancer, colon cancer etc.) and haematological malignancies
(e.g. acute and chronic leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma etc.). Established in 2018, it has developed into
a modern and full-fledged Medical Oncology department, which is first of its kind in Jharkhand.
The Medical Oncology team consists of consultants supported by medical officers and specially trained oncology nurses. Theteam has expertise and experience in providing all types of modern ‘Systemic Therapy’regimens (e.g. chemotherapy, targeted therapy, Immunotherapy) in patients with cancer, to achieve the best survival results with the least possible side effects.
The Medical Oncology department offers Outpatient services, Day care chemotherapy and In-patient chemotherapy services. There is a separate ‘Neutropenia ward’ for patients of Acute Leukemia and Neutropenic sepsis.
